Big Bark For Canine Heroes!

OK, Who is your favorite canine hero? Are you a fan of Lassie, Underdog, and Jerry Lee? Or do you remember and honor Kobi! Kobi was dog that was trained to smell cancer in patients but died of cancer. What about the great dogs of Police K9 units and K9 Rescue teams?
This Saturday, November 1st 2007, San Jose residents and The Humane Society Silicon Valley will be celebrating and honoring Dog Heros! Paws In The Park will be meeting at Park Valencia from 12:00 – 4:00 P.M.
Paws In The Park will teach you about Search and Rescue Dogs. You’ll learn about dogs that work with explosives and crime scene dogs. Come show support to our very own San Jose Police K9 Unit!
Humane Society Silicon Valley will also talk about how you can adopt a pet! I know that a lot of Pet stores are going to hate me but Animal Shelters are the best place to get your new pet! The people at the Humane Society are dedicated to education people, loving animals and finding homes for animals in the Silicon Valley.
By the way, that cute K9 on is ready for adoption. His name is Joey! As you can see he’s a very happy and active 5 year old. He would love a home with people who know how to love and deal with large dogs.
Here’s a really cool video of a trained K9. Just look at that control around a frantic person until she gives the command then Matrix is not letting go. If everyone should obtain police training for their dog, I don’t know? I guess that depends on if you walk or run in secluded places.

Thank you for mentioning Kobi. He will always be our hero….I’m Kobi’s mommy. I’m glad to see that he is not forgotten and hopefully his work with cancer will assist with some medical breakthroughs in the future. We will definitely try to make the event.
