San Jose Favorites: Attractions
Every year the Wave magazine holds their anual Silicon Valley Readers’ Choice Awards. A time when San Jose residents can vote for their favorite place to grab a bite to the best place for a yearly check up.
The following are Winners, Honorable mentions, and suggestions for when you don’t agree with the crowds vote. I’ve included my favorites and I would love to hear yours!
Attractions
Winner: The Tech Museum of Innovation
The Tech Museum of Innovation offers attraction for the whole family. Many of the past exhibits have been on animation, robotics, and even the human body.
There are currently 240 different areas to explore, create and build in at The Tech Museum of Innovation. During my recent visit, Mike and I had a great time designing a hybrid car. Let’s just say that Mike is the mastermind when it comes to electric motors, tires, and efficiency.
Honors: Winchester Mystery House
The Winchester Mystery House was once owned by Sarah Winchester, the heiress of the Winchester Rifle fortune. I love the Winchester Mystery House for it’s strange architecture and wonderful landscaping.
Visitors can either go through a guided tour of the strange mysteries of the Winchester Mansion or take a self guided tour through the gardens.
Here is a view of The Winchester Mansion through a recent guest.
If you have already visited these two locations, and are looking for something more family friendly, then try Happy Hollow Park And Zoo. This is an attraction with a small selection of birds, monkeys, and other small animals.
Every time I go, the kids seem to have a blast on the rides and in the park area. It’s just a great place to get out in the fresh air and have a family day.
One suggestion is to bring your own snacks and drinks. The food at the snack bar can be a little pricey as usual.

I like this article but can not agree with your points. Can not dispute with the general sentiment though. Well written also!
