Monday Movie Madness
Robin (Robin Greenspan) has the perfect married life of a house, dinner parties, movie night; the only problem is that the relationship is rocky. Well like most relationships. Lacie (Lacie Harmon) is afraid of commitment and enjoy her free spirited lifestyle. Director Gabriel sets the stage for drama in the lives of two lesbian cast members Robin and Lacie.
Through Girl Play, I don’t know if I’m watching a movie or a play. Two women share a monologue of their life on a stage that intertwines with each other. We get a glimpse of each Actresses life through flashbacks and thoughts running through their head.
With each day of rehearsal the Actresses grow closer and closer together causing each woman to learn a little bit about her feelings, life, and future life with the other Actress.
Though Girl Play can be found in the Lesbian Drama section at your local video store. Girl Play is really about life and relationships. It’s about being in a relationship that motivates and inspires us. It’s about being happy with who we are and where our future is headed.
And yes I would recommend this movie to any adult who has an open mind.
I always like to find out what Actors and Actresses are currently working on when I rent a DVD. It keeps me in touch with the movie industry.
Robin Greenspan did an album, a movie and then seemed to disappear. As did Lacie Harmon.
