Hiss To Postal Service
A person would think that with all the packages and cards that are being sent out during the holidays that the United States Postal Service could provide tape for boxes.
Every year the news broadcast how over stressed the people at USPS are but I honestly think they bring it on themselves.
I think our little adventure to the post office to send off three holiday packages just proves that the USPS is still not prepared.
The first office didn’t have boxes to fit the package we were trying to send. We were almost able to close the top but just missed it by a hair. This wasn’t a present you wanted to squish to fit either.
We thought we would try the second office that is located by the movie theater that we were going to. We found boxes that would fit.
The only problem is that there was no tape to secure the box. Wasn’t there a day when the USPS provided brown paper and tape for holiday packages.
If we had gone the route of sending the boxes through USPS the cost of shipping would have been twice the amount of what the gift was worth.
So some definite lessons learned with The United States Postal Service:
By packing materials elsewhere, they end up being less in price
Send packages through the company, sometimes its less expensive to do
Think about sending gift cards and debit cards, this way friends and families will be able to pick out whatever they want.
