Does SJSU Stack Up?
U.S. News recently did a survey ranking the Colleges and Universities around the world. Did San Jose State University make the top 5?
Not this time! Our neighboring cities Stanford and Pasadena tied for fourth and fifth.

Undergraduate student body: 6,576
Endowment: $12,205,035,000
Tuition and fees: $32,994

California Institute of Technology
Pasadena, CA
Last year’s rank: 4 (tie)

San Jose State did rank eighth in the Western Devision for universitities that offered Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
U.S. News reports that the ranking is based on 15 different indicators such as graduations, retention rates, faculty resources, financial resources, and student but some colleges are not buying it. Education Activist Lloyd Thacker and Sixty-two colleges have enlisted in an anti-ranking campaign.
Yet some have yet to stop using the list to advertise the university or college.
