Will Netflix customers enjoy going digital?

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

remote.jpgCurrently Netflix customers have the added bonus of watching movies instantly as well as receiving current DVD movies in the mail.

Later this year Netflix Inc. plans to deliver movies and other programming straight to customer’s television sets.

LG Electronics will be producing the technological boxes that will pipe the entertainment from Netflix Inc. offices over high-speed Internet connection to your home.

There has been no comment on additional costs to current customers.

Christmas Celebrations, Rocking Concerts, And More

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

joanjett.jpgI don’t care what some people say in San Francisco, California. San Jose, California is a city. Yes, you guessed it. I’m tired of people saying, “I don’t know where anything is around here, I’m from the city.” What the?

To prove that we are a city, here are some things going on at our convention center, theaters, HP Pavilion, art museum, and more.

Voices In Harmony
The California Theater will be host to Northern California’s Premiere Men’s A Cappella Chorus on Sunday December 16 2007. You can listen to a collection of their musical pursuits here.

Let’s Go Sharks! Let’s Go

Monday, December 10th, 2007

sharks.jpgI have to say that I’m a little bummed that The San Jose Sharks lost to The Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. The final score was 1- 7. Big Hiss to Ryan Miller for all those blocked pucks.

Hopefully the San Jose Sharks will be able to get passed this one game to beat out The Minnesota Wilds. The Sharks have four games this week against Minnesota Wilds, Vancouver Canucks, Dallas Stars, and Anaheim Ducks.

I personally will have my ears glued to Sunday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. Currently the Ducks lead in the Pacific division in GP’s. That’s where I want the Sharks to be. Will I get my wish? We’ll just have to see next week.

For more in-depth commentary, check out Ponds And Pucks. The Flyers are on Michelle’s mind.

Pacific Coast Fog Festival 9/29 - 9/30

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

surfer.jpgWhy celebrate fog? That’s exactly what they do in Pacifica each year. If your looking for something to do for the weekend of the 29th, I would take the one hour drive to Pacifica for the Annual Pacific Coast Fog Festival.

The festival was created in 1986 to celebrate the wonderful coastal climate, community of Pacifica, the surf, and the sand. Each year several tons of sand is brought into the Pacific coast fog festival for the National Champion Sandcastle Builders. These several tons of sand are turn into amazing sculptures. Do not forget your camera!

San Jose Favorites: Best Bowling Alley

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

bowling.jpgI actually thought that Bowling was out of style. The days of rental shoes, clashing pins, and hand blowers had come a thing of the past. Bowling is actual an activity to do and people are doing it with style.

Bay area residents voted 300 to be the coolest play to knock the pins down. Cleverly named after a great game of Bowling, 300 claims to be strikingly different. If I were judging by décor, I would have to say that it is.

Extreme bowling fun features digital bowling lanes, full bar, pool tables, Sports Telecast, and a full grill. The grill has old time favorites with a modern twist. I had the “Team Extreme” with my fiancé Mike. The Team Extreme is a platter of Buffalo wings, Nachos, Mozzarella sticks, Garlic Fries, and Shanghai Egg Rollers.

Everything was great! Mike loved the Garlic Fries and went for the Egg Rollers. The Sweet Chili Garlic Sauce is an interesting mixture with the fried Egg Rollers.

3:10 To Yuma
3:10 to Yuma is current adaptation of a great western by Elmore Leonard. It’s a battle of might and wit as a rancher is given the responsibility to bring an outlaw to justice.

I’m excited about watching 3:10 to Yuma. Russell Crowe has been a favorite Actor since he showed up on the big screen in the staring role as Maximus .

Shoot Em’ Up
Clive Owen is all anger and bullets in the role of Mr. Smith. A man that has made it his duty to save a newborn child that everyone wants dead. Most critics are calling it a witless hyperactive trigger-happy blowout of a movie.
