At the movies….

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

willsmith.jpgI’ve been lucky to see two new movies this week instead of watching it on DVD. Don’t get me wrong, I love the DVD’s that come to my mailbox every day via Netflix but there is just something about a night out on the town and going to the movies.

The first movie was my honey’s choice and he wanted to go see ‘The Golden Compass’. After all the poking that my Christian family members gave me, I have to say that I enjoyed the movie.

Sure the books that ‘The Golden Compass’ is based off of might be anti-Christian and I can understand the concern of people thinking that kids will want to read the books after they see the movie but it’s a fun movie.

I was able to pick the second movie and after watching ‘The Omega Man” with Charlton Heston, I wanted to see if Will Smith could top it. You may not agree but my vote has to go with Will Smith.

I was a little disappointed with the whole monster concept and design. The infected just seemed like zombies on Meth. When we finally get to see a close up it looks like Tatopoulos Studios mixed a little I, Robot movement with Resident Evil and The Mummy facial features to create the beast.

It just takes away from the movie when you can see features of other movies in current film characters.

Okay, enough ragging on films. Here are some new films that can be found downtown!

Charlie Wilson’s War

National Treasure: Book Of Secrets
I have to admit that I have been waiting and waiting for this to be released.

P.S. I Love You
This would be something my honey would so do. Hell I’m crying already.

Sweeney Todd

Walk Hard

Out of the four, I’ll be going to see The Kingdom and Trade. I would go see King of California just to watch Michael Douglas be a goofball but the trailers just do not get my attention.
